Description
The Women’s Howler Splitboard takes the DNA of our bestselling backcountry freestyle snowboard and unleashes it on the skin track. Designed by Elena Hight and Victor de Le Rue, the high-octane fusion of freeride and freestyle performance unlocks new backcountry zones for riders who refuse to be boxed into categories. Charge backcountry spines, stomp huge airs with authority and rail powerful turns with the Women’s Howler split.
Flex: 8/10
Shape: Directional - A directional outline with a longer nose, shorter tail and setback stance to optimize float, maneuverability and edge power. Designed for riders who prioritize performance on groomers and in the backcountry over park riding.
Low Tapered - A subtle taper that aids directional performance but keeps the ride feeling balanced and dynamic on piste and resort terrain. Popular with riders who like to carve the resort or push freestyle in the backcountry, without giving up versatility on the powder days. Any shape with a taper of less than 10mm between the nose and tail.
Medium 3D Contour Base - 3D Contour Base tuned for all-terrain featuring 4mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 0-4mm of spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts just before the contact points.
Tail Kicks - Tail Kicks inspired by cruiser skateboards, with a short, abrupt transition designed to maximize the benefits of the camber right up to the contact points. An extended flat zone creates a large platform to pop from and support backseat landings.
Bend: High Power Camber - Full tip-to-tail camber with our most pronounced bend and an extended flat zone under the rear inserts. This amplifies power in the tail, delivering explosive pop and locked-in edge control to drive out of turns and stomp landings on steep terrain.
Core: Control Core Split - Premium dual density wood core made out of responsibly harvested Paulownia and Poplar. 2:1 Paulownia to Poplar stringer ratio creates a lightweight core that’s damp and durable.
Koroyd - Developed from aerospace technology, award-winning Koroyd synthetic core material is the lightest core dampening material we’ve ever tested. It absorbs vibrations and reduces tip swing weight, enabling quicker, smoother turns.
Fibreglass: Triax - Triaxial fiberglass laminate made with a triple-layer, multi-axis construction that delivers a precise and powerful board feel with a mid-stiff torsional flex for supreme response in variable snow conditions.
ampliTex Carbon/Flax Stringers - Hybrid performance stringers made from carbon and naturally sourced flax fiber, developed with Swiss engineering firm Bcomp.
Base: Sintered 8000 Base - Premium sintered base material that’s ultra fast, highly wax absorbent, easy to repair and proven to be one of the most durable and long lasting base materials in the industry.
