The Voltfuse Banked and Janked Slalom at Baldy Mountain Resort this past weekend was one for the books. Freeride had a crew there competing and handing out prizes. The slalom took place on the Baldy Beast, a 1.5 km track with over 650 vertical feet of "janky" terrain, gated side hits, and banked turns through Baldy's legendary trees. The first test run clocked in at about 1.5 minutes. One of our own; Ricky Styles (white helmet) took home 2nd place with a time of 1:09!

The $15 registration fee included a Burger and Beer by the fire pit, and optional entrance into an evening rail jam on the bunny hill park. Rick managed to take 3rd, and team rider Corey Kowalski snagged 1st place.

It's these types of unforgettable events that make snowboarding what it is, and we're so lucky to have the opportunity to take part right in our own backyard. Freeride looks forward to seeing the Baldy Beast come alive again!

Please enjoy a quick party lap video featuring the Freeride crew bombing down the Baldy Beast:
