Product Description

Making the transition from sponsored snowboarder into ‘real life' can be hard for many to deal with. A lack of education, zero job experience, lingering head injuries, and a thirst for alcohol isn't the best combination for a stable future. All joking aside, snowboarders always find a way to keep the party alive and what better way to keep in the game than starting up your own brand. The entrepreneur bug is a big part of Canadian snowboarding with rider owned brands being launched across Canada since the 1980's. Some have fizzled out while others have grown into large companies. Screening t-shirts used to be the brand origin of choice whereas now headwear is the accessory catching a lot of attention. I came up with the idea of starting a headwear company about six years ago when I was still living up in Whistler, but always on a sketchy and tight budget. After representing many companies in snowboarding, stoked on the good life, I broke my pelvis during the Whistler Telus Festival. While rolling my wheelchair and using my first computer ever, I realized I could do a lot of things for snowboarding after seeing the weak support from sponsors after my situation. On the other side, I realized how much support I was getting from my friends and I decided to push this brand project I had in mind since I was a teenager. I moved back east to start iFound with my brother, JP, who takes care of finances and import/exports, artist Mat Laroche (Mattel), who is my best snowboard buddy that creates the iFound positive image and everything around it, and Ezekiel Lebrun, who was my first shop sponsor and the man who helped us realize the Sugar Shack movies. We are registered as a ‘workers co-operative', not a corporation, so everyone has equal shares and gets one vote.
